On October 12, 2018, an entry was made in the register of non-profit organizations regarding the registration of Brüder der Ritterschaft Christi von Livland MTÜ. The literal translation from German is: Brotherhood of the Knights of Christ of Livonia, and the colloquial term used is: Livonian Order.
In 2018, Brüder der Ritterschaft Christi von Livland MTÜ announced the revival of the Livonian Order, which was officially discontinued in 1561, as a non-profit organization, and it serves as the cultural successor to the former traditions.
Today, the Livonian Order is a center for creative initiatives. It is a secular organization with the goal of cultural and educational work, the promotion of history, folk memory, the German language, and other cultural values.
In particular, in the form of a historical club, we study and reconstruct various events in Europe, especially in modern-day Estonia.
We also introduce historical events through lectures, presentations, and film screenings.
We organize various leisure activities in the spirit of «living history» and fairy-tale role-playing events, including festivals and theatrical performances.
We conduct excursions, lectures, and information days.
We engage in various charitable activities.
We develop cooperation with state institutions, local governments, and other non-profit and commercial organizations.
